St. Paul's bay

St. Paul’s Bay is absolutely incredible place, located on the edge of Lindos. Above it, you may admire famous Acropolis, around it picturesque rocks. Since the cliffs protect the bay from the wind and crystal water of different shades of blue is quite shallow, the spot is an excellent place for the families with children. Nevertheless, if you swim a bit further into the bay you will discover that rocks attract all kinds of colorful fish which makes the place perfect for snorkeling.
There are two beaches here, one with the golden sand and the other with pebbles. The first is popular between the tourists, the second is beloved by the locals. Everything what is needed for the magnificent beach rest is available in the bay: sunbeds, umbrellas, showers, changing rooms, other necessary facilities. Please don’t expect here noisy water sports, this bay is too perfect for doubtful achievements of amusement industry. Nevertheless, if you want to have the nice lunch, there are quite a few good options to choose from. Along the bay you can find several nice cafés but in the village of Lindos, which is very near, there are all sorts of taverns with excellent local food.
The bay was called after Saint Paul because it is believed that the Apostle landed here in 51 A.D. to preach Christianity to the people of Rhodes. That explains the unique atmosphere of the bay. Divine love and harmony dissolved in the air make this place perfect for the weddings. Couples can get married in the charming small church hidden in the bay and after the ceremony make exquisite pictures in this gorgeous place where beauty of nature so perfectly combines with human heritage.
